CASPAS WORKSHOP

A therapeutic workshop for children/young people either placed with adopted parents or permanent foster carers.

For all ages the workshop will commence on 5th January 2008 on Saturday 10–11.30am for the under 12s for four weeks and the over 12s Saturday 10-12 midday until 9th February 2008.

Post Adoption Supporting Timeout (PAST)

PAST will provide ‘family learning’  sessions for parents/guardians/carers and their children. Our group work  sessions will look  at solutions rather than looking  for causes of problems.

We will  work on   building self esteem and trust, developing   coping strategies, communication, behaviour management. The sessions will be lively  and energetic as well as being supportive and confidentiality will be upheld.

The training is led by  a qualified and experienced practitioner, Systemic Family Therapist, Tessa Saunders BA (Hons). She is a member of UKCP.

We intend to divide the sessions by  age, 6-11, 12-14 and 15-19 years. There is an expectation for parents/carers to attend one of the sessions. We will be offering 4 weekly sessions at 1.5 hour sessions for children from age 6-11. The sessions will be held on Saturdays and start 10th November until 1st December 2007.

Those children from aged 12 upwards  will have 6 weekly sessions at 2 hours each to be held on Tuesdays and will start on 6th November  until 11th December 2007.
